Hey people,

Iv never setup a mail server.
I would really appreciate yeer help.

What I need is a mail server that will run within a LAN. POP3, STMP support is needed. QuickMail was being used but it is no longer *free* therefore we need an alternative. The easier it is to setup the better and more gui it is the better. If the mail client mail.app could run with it twod be great.

Iv been looking at postfix, sendmail, read something bout a postOffice (can't for the life of me find the site again), currently reading something on EIMS (Eudora Internet Mail Server)

If anyone has used one of the above Id like to here what ye thought of them. Any other mail servers that ye know off would help me immensely. Preferably they would be shareware or freeware.

No idea. Sendmail seems to the the one to go with on MacOSX

Might get a better response in the Unix forum.

Also there is a very gui and friendly (although it does come with a cost, free trial though) CommuniGate Pro Server. I was very impressed with it's simplicity and it suited my needs perfectly.
