I dont see anything wrong with any of the above combos.

Orange and mints, that's a no no.

Except if, like some people, you've got a masochistic streak, and get a little kick out of it not that I'd know anything about that.

    Nuts + anything.

Putting nuts on any food just instantly ruins it. I don't know how people can live putting almonds or brazil nuts or any kind of nuts into an otherwise perfect dish :(

Or marzipan. Although that's just an extension of nuts. Foul foul foul :(

I'd have to agree with drinking anythin after eating mints or chewing gum.. what's up with that weird taste?? IT's disgusting..
Another one is combining biscuit with mint (Viscounts) they're horrible!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,823 ✭✭✭Horsefumbler

thought of another, a bowl of Crunchie Nut Corn Flakes and a Pot Noodle - one ruins the other if u hav them together

yeah that does give u a fairly nasty taste in yur mouth. Also if u brush yur teeth after eating chewing gum or eating mints u get this manky taste in yur mouth. The 2 mint tastes conflict!

When I was younger (so much younger than today) I like mashed banana with sugar. I also liked tomato sauce. I then discovered I didn't like banana with sugar and tomato sauce. Life hasn't been the same since then.

Whatever you do, never mix Pop Rocks with Coke. It'll explode in your stomach and kill you.... I know, because it happened to a kid two towns over, at the county fair, a couple of years ago.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,823 ✭✭✭Horsefumbler

What are pop rocks again? sounds like a larf anyway

btw i'm sure yur sig is witty but its too ****ing long dude. howabout giving us the gist of it? :D

Pop Rocks are gravel-sized bits of hard candy with carbon dioxide pumped into them so they create a powerful snap, crackle, and pop effect in your mouth. They seemed to be more common in continental Europe and England than in the States, so I assumed they'd be available in Ireland (different name perhaps?). Anyways, growing up, it was a popular school yard myth that mixing the candy with soda would cause death. I lived in many countries and cities, and heard this in all of them, always happening to some kid two towns over.....

Yeah, seeing as my sig is five times longer than my average post, I'll take your advice ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

yeah and wasn't that pop rocks and coke thing done in that film urban legend as it is one?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 60 ✭✭Houston Griffin

It's definately a silly urban legend (maybe this was the wrong forum to attempt such cheesy humor). I didn't see the movie, but I saw that episode of the Simpsons where Homer stole a valueable object from a candy convention, and he made a grenade out of pop rocks and soda to fend off the angry conventioneers who were chasing him.

Back to the topic at hand: Pizza and milk are two combinations that don't mix. I found this out after ordering a pizza and discovering I had no beer or coke. I should have had water.....

Chewing gum and pigs tongue definitly dont go together!!

I'm sure the toothpaste companies refer to that as a "feature" ;)

another one occured to me today - eating anything after having been sucking on an icepop for awhile eg. Calipso. Your taste buds just get wrecked and everything u eat tastes the same:ninja:
