O2 customer support...a disaster!

I have rung O2 customer support about 3 times this week and I am not pleased with them at all!

I won a new nokia 3650, which isn't supposed to be out in the shops in ireland for a while. Anyway I rang up O2 to get all the settings for mms/wap/internet etc.

First of all we literally had an argument whether I actually had a 3650 or not. Finally she accepted I had one but refused to send me any details because she couldn't be certain they would work! I eventually conviced her to send them to me. I noticed shortly after that I couldn't send text messages.....

    Next day,

Ring up to find out whats wrong, spent lots of time on the phone talking to them. Same problem "its my phone" excuse from them. Turns out after she looked at her computer, "I had never been setup for text messages!" I told her I had and she activated them.

With those to phone calls neither of them new about the pp.internet connection point. So I rang up this morning again and they new nothing about it again.

I'm not pleased with the O2 spport service. They don't seem to have clue about whats going on if its not wap! Has anyone else had bad experiences?

also could someone please tell me the settings for the pp.internet access point?I know dubwireless has mentioned he has it. Could you please post them up? Thanks. I'm prepaid by the way

well really unless the fone is supported by them you can't expect any help, i got none when i got my 7650 as it wasn't released here then.

the details for the pp.internet are in these forums somewhere, use that ole search option :)

Hi stereo_steve. All the settings you need for the Nokia 3650 are available from the O2 website. Just click the link below and select your phone model and it will send the settings over the air to your phone.

Also your better off ringing o2.ie tech support rather then o2 customer care for all o2.ie settings such as MMS and GRPS.

What do you expect, stereo_steve? It's not even out here and probably won't be for several months, they are well within their rights to not support you on a phone they didn't supply!

When I got my Sony Ericsson T300 I just went to the o2 page and had a data sms sent that changed the gprs and wap and sms settings for me, so I assume they are handset specific because I had to select my phone from a list.

It wouldn't have mattered if I rang up on an unsuported brick from the 1980's(assuming it was GSM!!!) They cancelled my text messages! I lost out on a day of them. I lost €2 credit trying to send MMS messages, which was not refunded!

On a side note, ever seen the error message on your phone message not sent? They're busy, message center number wrong,etc... Well they charge you EVERY time for that!ARRGH!

They didn't know their stuff, constantly consulting others. I'm not happy with their service, and having worked in a job where I have to deal with customers I am VERY nice to people doing their job, helping me. I realise mistakes happen and nobody knows everything about their job, but I rang up 3 times for the same thing and two of them didn't even know what I was talking about!

Thats the end of my rant!

hi - interested if you were calling 1740 or 1909?

on a side note - sometimes find if i get no joy from phone support - sending in an email sometimes gets a problem sorted out (and vice versa!)

It was 1740. I've never heard of the 1909 number before, wha is it for?

I'm not in a huff over it anymore, I've gotten over it! It just really annoyed me at the time

how about sending the request to support@o2.ie for the pp.internet to be set up on your account - you could aways say that you have a 7650 to get the settings - but you know yourself - if you got/get network connection hassles then you'd have to wat until it was supported to ask more help

sorry - 1909 is the bill pay (general) customer care no!
