Why did I go to this ?? Ill tell you, as a favour to my girlfriend. I owed her for Star Trek. Fair nuff.

But god dammit it hurt !! Royally. This movie is a travesty. Its not just that its a chick flick, which sometimes have good dialogue or good character development to keep me interested. This has nothing watsoever to contend with ANYTHING that has been out this year. Its very close to THE TUXEDO. Thats how bad this thing is.

    Avoid Avoid Avoid

    oh ya

    AVOID !!

I haven't seen the movie, and don't think I could, because since seeing Schindler's List I always think "Amon Goeth" when I see Ralph Feinnes.

How does Ralph Fiennes go from Spider and The Good Thief to this muck ?? He should sack his agent.....

Hope there is something decent out next week (I don't want to feel I have to go to this because there is nothing else out!)

    - Dave.

Was it not a John Hughes film?

    Was it any fun?

He just wrote it (possibly under the name Edmond Dante). Hughes unfortunately hasn't directed a film in over a decade which is a pity because he made some truly great films during the 80's.

You're not on your own as I watched it last night with herself! Counldn't agree more. It was pure rubbish. As bad as chick flicks are, some are remotely watchable but this was crap start to finish. :(

And what 'truly great' films did John Hughes direct in the 80s?? If you mean angsty $hite like the Breakfast Club then your definition of great needs some tuning.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Home Alone etc.

He was involved in some great films.

The soundtrack of Pretty in Pink - New Order, Smiths, P. furs, Echo & the bonnymen, Suzanne Vega - probably one of the coolest soundtracks ever.
