First off I don't know is this the right forum but I couldn't find a more appropriate one.

I'm trying to change my diet but unsure how to or what are the right things to eat.
I used to uphold a reasonably good diet but I've got lazy about it of late. I'm trying to improve my fitness standards also so any suggestions on foods that I should and should not be eating to remain healthy and the proper weight.

    Thanx lads

What you need is a pyramid type diet, somethign like this (I'm sure there are better details somewhere):

1 portion processed sugars / alcohol luxury foods
    2 portion meat / fish / eggs - protein
    3 portion beans / peas / lentils - protein
4 portion fresh greens vegetables fruit - fibre / minerals / vitamins
    5 portion pasta / bread / potatoes / cereal - carbohydrates

Drink 1.5 - 2.0 litres water per day.

Avoid snacking / grazing - if you have to get some fruit or dried fruit.

    Everything in moderation.
