Yeah that was a pretty class cartoon. How many episodes did they make? and what was the story with the berry loving teddy bears?

Wildstorm have brought out two comic series (currently at issues #4 and #1) on Thundercats.

Oh, and there's also a "blooper reel" where the actors who did the voices say some pretty funny sheeot, I think.

Thundercats was waaaay ahead of its time. The baddie, Mum-ra, WAS actually a badass in it. Used to love the way his bandages would all fly apart as he turned into the tough-nut version of himself. It introduced a lot of concepts to modern cartoons too - mixing fantasy (the weapons, eg. sword of omens and nunchaka) with sci-fi (the machines, eg. slyyyth's nose-diver and the giant aquatic frog-robot-thing), sexual tension (for cheetara obviously), cute bear things (I think they were called the roeber burbils), cool transport (the thunder tank) and a cool eco-system (desert of sinking sands etc.). All in all, top quality cartooning.

I can only remember all the toy tie ins. I'm only 20 so I guess it was a little ahead of my time. Did they air it on RTE?

I think it was only on BBC I had loads of the toys.....

I'm really surprised they never repeated it or MASK or some of the other great cartoons that were also around at a similar time to Thundercats.

130 episodes according to TVtome. An amazing amount when you consider the show only lasted 15months before being axed.

Anyway, it was a class show and I reccomend the theme music to everyone!
