I'm not a Goth myself but why does it bother you so much, and what makes you think someone who wears black is angry?? (Thats just a tad stupid) It may because of music they listen to or just maybe people like the colour black. It's really the least of Dubliners worries with all the complete scumbags hanging around all over the place. I believe the chances of Goth pulling a knife on you and demanding your phone and wallet are pretty slim.

I wear black about 80% of the time, and im no goth, but one of my mates is, and he's fairly dead on.Its their choice to live this way, and I really doubt they care about internet rants about them. tbh, if its how they wanna look,its how they wanna look, and nobody has the right to stop them

I don't think it has to do with black clothing as such but I have to say that all the crusties that hang around templebar, sitting in doorways, skateboarding and eating the faces off thier respective black or red haired women tends to offend me. They all seem totally harmless but I don't like the attitude they have towards everyone else walking past. Not aggressive or anything, more condesending, like we are visitors to their turf.

And then maybe I have picked them up wrong.

It's not that I have anything against goths, I know a few myself who are bang on, but if I saw anyone I knew hanging around TB carrying on like some I see I would tell them to find a bench, find a park or find a room, and get the **** out of my neighbourhood!

I think goths are different to those of Temple Bar.
Just observing, I notice they all wear baggy clothes and band t-shirts of modern metal bands mostly.

I like gothic music myself I'v found that guys who hang around there (don't get me wrong, I don't know them all) would listen to bands such as Deftones, Korn or System of a Down.

They are no-where near goth music

doubht taken over is accurate in any way,maybe more so then in country towns but what do u expect with a population the size of Dublin?
so what if there are people who dont the same as you,if you look at every group of friends whether they be goths,rockers,trendies etc they all dress the same,

I dont know much about goths or know any for that matter but afaik being a goth is something of a phase unfortunately being a scumbag is not a phase, i think scumbags are as logie suggested more of a problem than goths......

The kiddies that hang out at the Central Bank are not Goths, despite what they'd like to think themselves. Ten years ago they'd have worn flannel shirts, ripped jeans and converse shoes. Ten years previous to that it was biker jackets, stretchies and white boot runners.

It is a phase, and they'll grow out of it quick enough, usually after they go to college and meet other people.

Leave 'em alone, its called teenage years.

These goth posts are ****. Whether these people are goths or not who gives a flying **** and who cares what colour they wear. They aren't harming anybody.

I think you should be ranting more about them manky nike/adidas (and various other white coloured tracksuit producing brands) wearing scangers (which are far more numerous in Ireland than goths/moshers/poshers/rockers/greebs/etc).

Scumbags/chavs/scangers/nackers/whiteys, whatever you want to call them, are the problem. They are all a bunch of moronic twats.

The worst kind are the rich ones that pretend they are poor to be "cool". I ****ing hate wannabe scangers, we have lots of them 'round Salthill in Galway. Theres also loads of 'em in Templeoge/Rathfarnham areas of dublin, its almost 50/50 in population percentage in that part of Dublin with rockers and scangers now, scangers in the slight majorty.
