    This phone is *lovely*.

    threep.jpg

Slightly bigger but just as lighweight as the 8310, these are the dimensions that camera phones should be. People complaining about the brick-esque quality of the 7650 should be impressed here :)

The keys are nice for, not as clicky as Nokia's tend to be. Once the back cover comes off, though, the camera lense becomes very susceptible to damage. The superb radio function can be played through an impressively powerful loudspeaker.

There's 5.3MB of built-in memory. Comes with a nice game called Triple Pop (similar to Bubble Bobble) which I've seen on the 9210 before & another game called Bounce which is also standard on the 6650. No sign of Snake yet :)

No Bluetooth or video capture, 'tis Tri-Band though.

Yeah, but it would be even better if it was true !

Quote from Nokia website 7250 features :

The following features share a memory pool of 725 kB
MMS messages (max size 45 kB per MMS message)
Ringing tones in Gallery (20 preset, all removable)
    Images (10 preset, all removable)
Java™ applications (3 preset, max download size 64 kB per application)

So, the same as the 7210 then.

Actually, this phone is a 7210 with a built in camera. There are no other differences. But then thats not a bad thing. I like my 7210. But lets hope the pisture quality from the camera is better than that from the 7210 camera accessory.

All the same, I'd say I'll upgrade to the 7250 when It's available to me.

    V10 ;)

    the site contradicts itself...

    http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/1,35452,015_66,00.html

More than 5 MB of memory is available for image storage, applications, and developer creativity.

I was thinking about getting one of these high spec phones, but I am continually asking myself, "Would I Pay > €500 for a 7210?"

Would You? Afaik you can't get insurance on a SIM Free phone..... am I right about this?

Looks nice. Any idea of release date / expected price / camera quality in comparison to 3/7650 / memory size for definite? :)

There is 5.3MB of memory in the phone, unless the phone is lying to me when it tells me that there's 5015kB of memory left ;)

For comparison, here is an image taken with the 3650, 7650 & the 7250.

*The 7250 has a max. image size of 128x128 compared to the 7650/3650's 640x480 resolution.

No projected release date as of yet. I should think that it will be another 2 months before it hits the shops. Haven't a clue on the pricing, to be honest.

I've been chasing this issue up with Nokia, about the memory available, for over a week now, and sent and recieved back numerous Emails.

My full post is on the alt.cellular.nokia newsgroup at: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=7250+camera+phone+-&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=lt37a.10813%24703.3921%40news-binary.blueyonder.co.uk&rnum=1

(Beware line wrap there - copy and paste if needed)

But in simple terms, it DOES have 5.3 Mb - or at least 4Mb or more...

725Kb of shared memory for tones etc, and a further 4Mb for photos thereafter (a strange way of doing it nonetheless), and other memory for various apps.

I suspected at first that the phones given out/obtained for review, are special proptotypes, but Nokia have now confirmed to me that it has an extra 4Mb on general release:

""Thank you for contacting Club Nokia Careline.
In response to your recent email regarding the 7250, I can advise that the
725Kb of shared memory is not for images taken by the camera on the handset
it is as previously advise for MMS, Ringtones, Wallpaper images, and Java
    applications.
There is 4mb memory is spread over the remainder of the phone and thus will
provide space for any pictures taken with the handset.
Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you have any further
    questions."

Followed more recently and decisively, by the response:

"Thank you for contacting Club Nokia Careline.
In response to your email regarding the memory capacity of the Nokia 7250,
this handset has 725kb that is exclusively for Gallery items, e.g. images,
wallpaper, MMS and ringing tones. When the 725kb is filled, subequent images
will be stored in the user memory, which is over 4MB in total. Having used
the handset, I can confirm that the handset does have at least 4Mb of user
memory, so in that respect, it does match the 7650. I hope this answers your
    question."

I trust that therefore clears up this issue? Or does it.

Oh and FIDELIS - by the way, the 7250's resolution is NOT 128x128 - that's its screen size, and optimum size for a wallpaper. The camera image size is 352x288 CIF size (Common Intermediate Format) - as clearly seen by your own example picture...

    Cheers all.

Its NOT a just 7210 with a camera added...

It has, just amongst other things, the re-inclusion of the 6310's WALLET feature, as well as, more substantially, the ability to set a thumbnail portrait image for each of your callers, so their mini pic is displayed when they ring.

This is possibly one of the reasons for the requirement of substantially more free memory to store all these images.

It also makes it significantly different to the 7210. Additionally, you can set the softkeys to do what you choose from stanby mode, and other similar little quirks that overall, make it VERY different to the 7210.

    There's a lot more too.

Shadamehr, seriously man, chill. There's no need to be so sarky when correcting people.

Forgive me - maybe a smiley thrown in by me might have been of benefit, but there wasn't a hint of malice in my post.

Its times like this that I rue text, where it is difficult to covey the tone in your wording, that would be readily apparent from a verbal speech.

I was simply trying to be helpful to the board with information I had.

I would be a bit upset now, given this fact, were it not for the fact that you yourself might very well have an entirely different tone in mind to the one I am judging from your post.

So just in case, and not knowing how to add one of the picture smileys, here's this instead...

    :-)

Add really, I meant to do nothing but try and help...

Well then, guess I was wrong.

But believe me, I'm glad I'm wrong because mine should be arriving within a week or so.
