    Hi guys..
When I turn on the sky digibox it says no satellite signal.. I rang sky and they said it's €100 just to look at it.. then I've to pay more to have it repaired..
I think it's just some birds landed on it and screwed it up..
Anyway is there anywhere I can get it done cheaper?
Thanks in advance for any replies

If you have the system less than 12 months it will still be under warranty, call the installer.
I had a problem when I had my system for about six months, I rang the installation company and they sent somebody around and he replaced my digibox and dish.

If your twelve months are up, you'll probably have to fork out.

    Yes
got it about 3 years ago.. digibox is a pace
    Hmm
I know I have to fork out just wondering are there any satellite shops or something that would do it cheaper
    Thx

you could bring the box directly to Armstrong electronics, no. in the phone book, thats your cheapest route.

Sounds like a signal problem for you SteKelly. The RTE's are usually the first to go if signal gets too low. Hallmark used to be another problem channel.

Get your installation checked out. Check the cable too as there may be water ingress.

Probably just as simple as checking the alignment of your dish - it may have moved a little bit. RTE and E4 are usually the first to go when this happens.

I had something of the same problem, and I found out that it was cheap cable that the installer installed from day one. I changed the cable my self and everything has worked fine since.

Check for good quality coax cable

    Hi,

I have just got Sky digital after a year of Ntl's poor service.
I have had it now for 3 weeks and I ahve been unable to get RTE 1 & 2,TG4,TV3, and BBC 1. I have all the other station,s with prefect reception, and no other problems.

I have been onto Sky customer services about seven times over the last three weeks how have been very polite, but no help. Answers have started with "we will resend the signal, if its not fixed call back in 24 - 48 hours" to lately "The problem as been E-mail to tec-support, and manegment, call back in 48 hours if its not fixed".(unlike NTL where i'd be waiting 45 minutes on call waiting for the phone to mysterously to hang up).

Anyway was just wondering has anyone else experinced similar problem's or might have a simple solutation.

    Thanks

    Brian.

Lots of new installs seem to ba having card authorisation problem.
No RTE / BBC but Sky1 etc oK. Pester Sky.

It seems they are slow to send replacement cards, but it does seem to be a card problem. A bug with the "new" cards?

this is a common problem with the new cards.you need to order a new card.order it on monday and you should have by thursday as they will cut off your old card whilst you are waiting for the new one to arrive.

Yea, this is rather annoying. They should not cut off the card for at least 3 days! But the cards get deactivated straight away and channels disappear within the hour usually.

It's very annoying seeing so many installs with new cards ending up like this! :(

There is a problem with the type of signals being sent to the new cards which sky are aware of and apparently it should all be fixed by now

Seriously, would it be so hard to type properly?

To answer your question, the signal would not dissappear straight away. Some channels would stop working first, followed by others. The free to air channels such as TCM, Sky News, etc. should work at all times.
