It was only a question of time so here it is,I no that this benchmark dosent accuratly portray real game scenario's but it's nice to know what other people got and what kinda system they were using.

    AMD XP 2000+ @ ( 1.75GHZ )
    512MB DIMM SDRAM PC133
    MSI GF4TI4400 @( core 310 ) ( mem 610 )
    WIN 2K

    SCORE = 1,168 :confused:

I would be very intrested in what the rest of you got.The scores are NOT compareable between - 3dmark 01 and 3d mark 03

    P4 3.65 GHz
    512MB DDR 434 CAS2
    Radeon 9700 Pro (Core 400, Mem 330)
    WinXP SP1

    Score - 5589

Nothing tweaked, first run. ATI D3D settings set to Quality.

Looks like I cant submit my score at the moment, Futuremark.com still under pressure?

I also noticed that despite the FPS being around 40 for most of it, it seemed to jerk and freeze every 10 seconds or so (smooth pause, smooth again..).

Yup i hear you there it's like a bloody powerpoint slideshow.Iv been reading a few posts by people who have geforce 4's and guy's that have radeons and there seems to be a huge gap ( 4000 points ) between the two cards with similar system setups.

Read the other post about it here. Nvidia droped out of the 3dmark project. So there is no support for the cards. But ATI still are in there so there is. 3dmark 03 is not a fair test of system speed in a gaming envireament. Its compleatly sided to ATI cards

    1332 marks.

    XP1800+, not overclocked.
    512mb PC2100 DDR Ram (cl 2.0)
MSI GeForce 4 Ti4200 at stock speeds
    Windows 2000 Pro SP3

Got 1800 Points on my machine

    P4 @ 2550 Mhz
    GF4 4600 Stock speeds

3D Mark 2k3 is not biased towards ATI. Its biased towards DX9 cards...IE the Radeon 9700 / Pro
OR Geforce FX. In fact the GF FX Scores better.

I'm waiting for R350 (6 weeks?) I want a big jump in performance...the 9700 isnt quite big enough for me! :P

Thats all down to interpetation. No games im aware of support PS1.4, yet 3DM uses it when it detects it. Games probably will only ever support PS1.1 and then 2.0+ in about 2 years. Therefore supporting 1.4 is not very useful as a games benchmark. It should be an option, but the default should be PS1.1.

Overclocked the Video card more: 5690

    See the breakdown here:
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=112415

Ignore the Radeon memory speed Futuremark reports, its really at 340MHz.

I get around 18.5K 3dmarks of the 2001 flavour (only overclocking, no SW cheats).

    798 :(

I thought my pc was good.
Can play any game Ut2 in 800x600, Bf1942 in 1024x768 Doom 3 ran okish.
    1.7 XP
    G3 ti 500
    512 Ram

Seems weird i got such a low score when the card performs perfectly on any game i stick on.

New Dets Nvidia had reayd the 42.68 are supposed to add greatly to your score havent tried them yet.

Weird im still playing UT2 on 800 and no Lag or jerkiness even when its fairly intense.

Mate with a 9100 ATi the on komplett for €99 got 4102 and i got 798.

Somfin not right and there is nothing wrong with my Pc setup.

    3D2K3 score: 7100 :)

    AMD Athlon64 2700MHz

Ill rerun 3DM2k3 tomorrow (it takes too long..), but I ran AquaMark:
    53,400 - a personal best.

    Athlon64 2733MHz
512MB DDR455 (only single channel as this is not an FX chip)
    FX5950 256MB Ultra - 5656 Drivers - 560 Core, 950 (stock) memory.

3DMark01 still scores rather poorly on this system:

    22,900.

the athlon 64 is really a beast when it comes to games and 3dmark2001, i get 20,000+ on a 64-3000+ at stock with a 9800xt. My 3dmark03 score was around the 7000 level on a clean boot/install.

hi joe very interested in your scores, i get about 17200 on my system at stock but i have 512mb ram and was interested in the effect of another 512mb on 3dmark01 and 03. my stock 3dmark03 score is about 5500 i think.

i can't seem to break 18000 on 01 even with oveclocking the graphics card to greater then XT frequencies, i actually get a better response from 3dmark03, so if you really bored one day and fancy benchmarking your system with only half the ram that would be cool :)

Wow - how the hell do you manage that? 204 on a 133 cpu :ninja:

EDIT: and why these settings? Your CPU itself is slightly underclocked, even though the bus is extremely fast

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭Dingatron

I have the A7N8X mb. Nice board. I wanted to make better use of my memory by running it at 200 mhz while also using nforce dual channel mode. Reading some of the forums at NforcersHQ.com and its better to run 200 X 10 rather than 133 X 15. My first attempt using 200 X 10 corrupted the bios  so I tried 204 X 9.5 which runs stable with CPU temp of 34 C idle and about 42 C full load. I know its under clocked but not going to mess too much untill I get another bios chip. Also running stock cooling and happy enough with performance now. Next thing is water cooling methinks!
    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 696 ✭✭✭Kevok

Thats probably how he got the 204 fsb speed. AMD MBs tend to get very unstable around 200fsb, I should know, I've been trying to get it for the last 6 months. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,317 ✭✭✭CombatCow

Im just after over clocking my pc for the first time yesterday and im quite happy with the results evan tho the clock speed has not increased that much.

    Its a barton 2800+( watercooled ) and it's now running at 12x 190fsb =2280mhz

It gave me roughly 2,000 points in 3dmark01(16,000) and 40 fps extra in ut2k3 flyby and 14 fps extra in the botmatch. ( 221/71 )

Id say because i have pc2700 DDR and no active cooling on the northbridge and a crap psu, i couldent get a higher clock, but im happy with it for now.

Thanks for the link to the other forum with the guide dataisgod.

Yes iirc the dual channel mode doesn't really kick in on socket A mobo under 200 FSB :)

What are you on about!!!!, Kevin I know for a fact that you have a 2500+ they OC to 3200+ speeds easily if you have a chipset that supports it and PC3200 RAM you should hit 200+ FSB speeds without a hitch:confused:. What is the limiting factor?, what chipset are you using?, from what I heard the nForce2 non Ultra400 could hit 200Mhz no prob at all and the Ultra400 was not hugely different from it at all :dunno:, weird.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 696 ✭✭✭Kevok

I have a 2800+, and everytime I try and oc past 178mhz fsb I get an overclock fail and have to clear the CMOS.

    It's an EpoX 8RDA+, nforce2 mobo.

what ram do you have though? don't have pc3200 ram your ram won't be designed to run at 200mhz and that could be limiting your overclock, you may also have to increase the core voltage or up the ram voltage to get the fsb up higher, usually its ok to put 2.8v through the ram (vdimm)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 696 ✭✭✭Kevok

    Corsair 1GB DDR XMS3200LLPT TwinX (2x512MB) CAS2 (MY-018-CS)

    Got it from overclockers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

nice ram almost identical to my own (the pc3500 corsair stuff uses the same chips as the pc3200 LL version)

push 2.8v through it and see if it makes a difference its still under warranty at the value i checked with corsair, and i needed to do this i think to help stability, also if your 2800+ is unlocked try dropping the multi to 11 and upping the fsb to 200mhz.

its best to find the fsb limit of your machine first, by giving it a real low multi and see how high you can go.

    good luck

Yea ive had my board at 244 x 9.5 , fully stable. Although different multipliers tend to give different FSB stability (or so i found on my NF7-S).

Well your prob would be your chipset, since your PCI bus is locked, well try increase the Volt not only to the RAM but also to the CPU, also I dont think your MB has an unlocked multiplier....try getting the latest and greatest BIOS for your MB, see if that helps stability when OCing.
