When Harvey Kusher picks up his mail, he lifts the entire bundle carefully and methodically. It has been a long time since Kushner has grabbed a single letter and ripped it open, not unless he recognises the writing on the envelope and is sure of its authenticity. He never touches letters or packages without thinking first and opening later. He says he has "eyes in the back of his head" and his brain brian never switches off from his, his family's, personal safety.

At his New York suburban home, Kushner makes a point of being aware - strange cars or strange people in his neighbourhood - and mentally stores the information. He makes four right turns when driving to and from places and always circles a block. He calls it his "just-in-case" plan. Harvey Kusher think s about his personal safety all the time. It is part of his day-in-day-out routine and, because of his nagging, it is part of the routine of his family, his close friends and his business associates.

Harvey Kusher is the president of the Safer America business.

Both of the above would lead you to believe, that he is either; a) Over-reactive á la Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory, or b) Cashing in on American panic.

You would never guess that he's a world-renowned specialist on international terrorism  The article makes for some scaryish reading.

I knew more attacks were possible, probably likely, but I would never have considered them with the immediacy (?) and urgency he places on them. And given that he outlined the possibility of the WTC attacks 3 years before it happened, I'm inclined to trust him on this.......

Anyone else? Crackpot, exploiting scaremonger, or vigilant citizen?

He might be an authority on international terrorism but he seems like a bit of a nut to me. Theres being safe and theres being a nut.
Hows circling the block gonna make you safer, or taking 4 right turns. Infact if you get stuck in that much of a predictable plan then, if someone was out to get ya (or whatever) your making it easier :p

time enough to bid the devil his due when you meet him

Seems a bit obsessive to me, but taking note of strangers/ strange cars in your locality is always a good idea.

True, but in a city or large town you'll lose count very quickly

He could of course be a terrorist watching out for the FBI!
