Yeah, that annoys me about Adam Sandler too and the things he usually does in his "comedy" movies aren't funny. But it's different in this film because he's not doing stupid things to try to be funny, there's a point to it all. There's direction to his less frequent antics...result of having a good director and good script to start with I guess. It's one of the best movie I've seen in the last year, only thing I can think of that's better is probably City of God.

saw it last night as about Schmidt was sold out and a friend had mentioned this to me. The g/f didn't really like it but i thought it was quite interesting. Just a point was the sound intentionally glitchy in that film or did uci's copy of it suck?

Saw it during the week and really enjoyed it. Was very quirky, reminded me of lots of French movies i cant think of the names of.
Loved the use of sound and light throughout. And Sandler wasnt annoying! Any director that can make a movie with Adam Sandler that doesnt make me tense up has my vote. :)

I thought it was only OK. Sandler was good (not as annoying as usual). Some of the comedy was very funny, but there wasn't enough of it. I'm not sure what it was supposed to be - a comedy, a drama, a romance, a quirky french movie (without the french!), or maybe all of the above. Maybe it spread itself too thin.

    - Dave.
