Ch 5 now FTA on Sky

    Add Channels - 11.758 H
    There are two channel 5 options.
    I think the fta is the second one
    =================================
    Muslim tv is on: 11.662 H

    Didn't work for me. Got the usual "This channel is not available" message.

    Same for me , got nowhere just that annoying Ch not available notice.

    The fact of the matter is that CH5 is sometimes unencrypted and you were (un)lucky enough to pick it up when it was not scrambled.
    For 95% of the time CH5 remains "unavailable" I'm afraid!

    Could theyu be testing for an irish launch?BBC was periodically availabe for a few days before it came[on and off mind]

    they are always testing channles.
    if you have the time/patience and lots of remote batteries, then you can find them, with lots of luck (i.e.) ..right place and time..

    Am going to try that frequency- BUT first will switch off/plugout my digibox and take out card- then plug back in + switch on and see what effect that has.
    remember bbc parliament appears on epg when you do that but if you put in your irish sky card you get that lovely channel unavailable message ( not that I'd want to watch that one )
    will only post back if this works
    fingers crossed now as I have my doubts

    evening all
    as far as i can make out this second ch5 channel started yesterday, oddly it has different progam details in schedule info banner (some musical/arts program was in the info banner all day)so its not the same channel as the normal ch5 seems to be classical, seeya take care.

    Evening indeed!!! - don't you know you have to watch the late late b4 the pub on a fri nite!!
    The 2 ch5's are there alright when doing the above procedure ( and then services 4 add ch's, store etc)
    however when you select either of them you get please insert card and then like tara " this channel is unavailable" frown.gif
    However if you press text on your tv remote you do get the analogue channel five teletext
    mad dash to pub now
    mm
