    FYI

Digital video recorder company TiVo is to stop making new set-top devices for the UK market. The company said it is scaling down its operations in the UK but will continue to provide support to existing customers. TiVo said BSkyB would continue handling customer support for TiVo in the UK, and hardware manufacturer Thomson would continue to repair the devices. TiVo will nonetheless continue its efforts to license its technology to companies in the UK.

Argos have a Thomson DTH7000u DVD Player / HDD in the new catalogue for EUR800.00.

You can also get in at Unbeatable for STG350.00.

This is probably the nearest we are going to get to a Tivo or Sky+ in the foreseeable future.

more and more companies are developing DVD/HDD recorders so it's only a matter of time that the price will come down to something affordable here in Ireland. I'd be very interested if it hit the €350 mark.
