Jaguar from the US?

Now, we all know that we're kicked in the pants every time we try to buy anything in Ireland, as the prices on the Apple store for ourselves are so much higher than in the US one.

But since the euro has gone up against the dollar, the price difference has been getting painful. With a US CD of Jaguar costing $129 (aka approx €120) and the Irish Apple Store offering it to me for €169, is there any reason I shouldn't just buy it from the US, give a US delivery address and have my pal post it to me.

The point being, have the Apple gremlins tinkered with the software for Ireland to localise it in some way that I would miss if I bought the US version?

Afaik Jaguar is pretty much international. On my Jaguar it makes no difference being Irish.

Jag even comes with Japanese menus so I can only presume that it is bundled with every language - you just choose where you are from.

Go for it I say. Is there anything in particular you want me to look up on my Mac Jag?

yup, just to confirm - it comes with all languages...

    As an experiment....

Find and Select the icon for some app... eg Internet Explorer...

    Get info on it (cmd-i)

In the list, you'll see languages. Just use the checkboxes. Pick swedish or something. (deselect the rest) Launch Internet explorer... Wow - it's in swedish

That's pretty cool. Beauty of XML:)

    thanks for that.

I know Sherlock has been whizzbanged up. Are there any local Irish services on it I'd miss out on if I went the US route?

Everthing else points to a trip tp Appleland USA.

Well, just checking Sherlock as I never normally use it (in built search within finder on os x jag to find files on hard drive)

Sherlock - web searches on sub section flights gives about 1000 destinations worldwide to search on. (granted sherlock is now quite laggy on drop down menus {500mghz with 500ish ram})

I just found Aer Lingus - I did a test of Aer lingus flights dublin to London Gatwick and it sent me this return with many flights...
    see attached picture.

    Cheers for that Gordon.
I think I'll go for the US shop all the same. It may or may not have an Aer Lingus Sherlock option, but how often do I fly to Barcelona anyway?

Hope the Euro has gone up again today against the dollar!

No tinkering - doesn't matter where you purchase it.

I've heard of people's packages being intercepted recently & VAT being deamnded by the authorities so beware you don't get hit for an additional 21 percent, or whatever it is currently.
