Holiday Romances

What does anyone think about holiday romances? And can they last?
My story is I went on a girly holiday August 2000, met my boyfriend (from Kilkenny), spent 18 months seeing him at weekends. He moved to Dublin, we've bought a house and marriage plans are underway. But we are soooo different, we have nothing really in common, but we get on so well and it's great. However I often wonder would we ever have met if I had chosen to go to a different bar that first night of my holidays - or was it fate.
Anyone else had a holiday romance that lasted?

I can't see it makes any difference if you meet your partner on holiday/in a night club/on the moon so long as your happy together...
but we get on so well and it's great

Thats the main thing... but it would want to be a *bit* more to get married I think.

BTW fate is a loads of ****e.
