Name that Game:

years ago i remember playing an old megadrive game, i think the title was something to do with a shadow or a ninja or something, anyway, it was great, you'd start off with a little sword and you could get upgrades and long chain type things (starting to sound like castlevania a bit), you could do a two player coop and i have a vague memory of jumping on and off giant metal suspended wheels. I know it sounds like every typical megadrive platformer but i'd really like to know what it is so if anyone wants to guess at it i can track down the rom.

It wasn't "Shadow Dancer" was it? This was (I think) the 3rd in the Shinobi series and hence featured Ninjas a bit.

One guy came back with this advice:

"...a couple of vague suggestions. At first I figured it was either zool or revenge of shinobi, but neither of those had a 2-player co-op mode. My best guess now would be Bad Dudes V Dragon Ninja - although you didn't start out with a sword in that game, but you could pick up chains, nunchuckers, eggwhisks, car jacks etc

It'll probably end up being something I've never heard of like cyber ninja jesus IV or some such....."

You seriously wouldn't believe the amount of "Ninja" scrollers on the megadrive:) I'd get going downloading the roms as they're small enough and grab Gens to play them.

To be honest guy's I think you can rule out shadow dancer. (Surely you'd remember a big white dog!;) )

As far as I Know bad dudes vs dragon Ninjas wasn't released on the megadrive and made it's appearance on the Nes.

I've changed my mind and am going with Ninja Gaiden as I remember the guy has a sword on his back and uses chains. Might fire up Raine in a bit:)

"....Its does sound like the prequel to Jesus 64, Mega Jesus but I'm not too sure....." (I think we can discount this- they're clearly thinking of Nintendo titles here)

I've had it suggested that this is 'definitely Blue Shadow'. If it is indeed Blue Shadow you should remember that when you held UP and B there would be a noise like "WHOP-WHOP-WHOP" and you'd pull out a sword and destroy everything.
