you need a blb-2 battery which you can get from any Carphone Warehouse for about E55. Just one thing..You shouldn't have to buy a battery for you phone already as it should be less than a year old and still under warranty. Bring it to any registered Nokia repair centre, tell them whats up and they should sort if for ya...Hope this helps.

As far as i know your phone is under 12 months warranty but your battery is only under 6 months, and they can check with the serial number on a battery.
Also a poor battery would still power a phone fully and then turn off, i doubt it would make the phone perform badly? not like those old tape walkmans which would warp the sound of the music as the batterys went dead?
best bet is to get a new one?
