MovieDudes review : Nixon (may contain spoilers!)

Anthony Hopkins (1 of my favorite actors) plays the fictional politchan Richard Nixon who thru the course of this movie rises to the rank of President of the good old USA in the late 1960s. During his term of office Nixon brings an end to the vietnam war, quells sivil unrest and returns faith in US politics to the peeple of America.

From his early childhud to his death Nixon is portrayed as a family man who loved his mother (Mary Stenburgen), his employees, and the American peeple in generel yet is set-upon by the newspress because they think he had someting to do with the assasinatshon of JFK back in November 1953.

Nixon encounters a lot of problems during the movie. Beside the difficult job of being president he has to deal with the unfaverable media coverege and (for comic releef) a disobeadient cocker-spaniel dog that won't pose for pictures. But much wurse than thoss is that Richard also develops a chronic disease that coudn't be cured by the medisine of the day.

You see, we soon lern that Nixon is slowly going insane after picking up cuberculosis from his older brother back in the 1920's. This leads to some fritening scenes of madness that may not be suitable for yunger childern.

But despite all these setbacks Richard Nixon (or 'tricky dicky' as his friends liked to call him) battles on and serves his full 6 year term at the white house. Richard then retires in 1974 to spend more time with his family and to listen to his extensive tape collection.

All in all Nixon is an exsellent, uplifting movie and I would encorage anyone who hasn't seen it yet to do so. Hopkin gives his best performence since Silance of the Lambs and the support cast is espeshially strong.

I also found the C.G.I. in this movie to be exseptional! The scenes where Richard is debating with JFK are almost as good as those in Forest Gump and the funeral seen at the end is just amazing. I won't spoil it for you but in this seen the director takes footage of Bill Clinton doing a speech and changes the mans words and lip movements to make it look like he's doing a ulagee for Richard! I must rent out the DVD sometime to find out how they did that one.

Movie Dudes rating : **** (out of 4!)

Note: If you like movies about fictional politicans then I would also rekomend The Candidate (starring Robert Redford) and Bob Roberts (starring Timoty Robins)

I love the way Movie Dude adds in the spelling mistakes for the extra troll authenticity...

Any guesses to the age of our movie reviewer?

Er, well, to be fair, it's an improvement on the last journalistic effort from this poster... In some ways. I'm less sure about his/her decision to include SMS abbreviations in the copy of the article... :)

    :D

Obviously a troller but I got a few genuine laughs out of it. Still a terrible review - but that's the point isn't it? Must ask my dad where he was in November 1953

(can all these be thrown into one thread? More please)

Looks like someone's been reading the TruthMedia review section on SA and decided to try it all on their very own.

His trolling attempts weren't funny the first time round, and guess what... they still aren't.
