    Hi,
Does anyone know when the Nokia 7210 be available on Vodafone or O2 and any ideas how much it will retail at?
    Thanks,
    Kev.

I have one since November as I have a mate in a mobile phone shop... he can't see them been out for another while as the price needs to drop on them before they become affordable and availability is still pretty bad.

They are a good phone but the camera accessory is a bit crap.

He reckons if Vodafone were to sell them at the current prices you'd be talking €399 with contract and about €550 without.

I've had one for just over a week now. It's a top phone and the colour screen is great and it's looks the $hit! I got mine on E-Bay for €400 brand new and unlocked which is about the going rate.

When you consider that people are flogging them on www.buyandsell.ie for between €500 and €750 I think I got myself a bargain! :D

Which do ya think would be worth more if I was selling it 2nd hand against a 7210 -a Nokia 8310 or a sharp GX-10?

    GX10 I'd say.

Although there may be more demand for 8310.

For about the last 5 weeks the carphone warehouse have had them in sim free for about €520?
they also have the 6610 too?
Both very nice phones, the 7210 is like the replacement for the 8310 and the 6610 is like the 6510? one is bright the other is reserved!!
both gonna sell like very hot cakes!!

i can't see them being released for a good while. in the uk t-mobile and o2 recalled all stocks, altho o2 have started stocking them again. nokia have recently brought out a software upgrade in asia to try and sort the problems, but the update has new bugs in it. not a good sign. i was seriously thinking about getting one myself on contract in the uk, but after hearing about all the trouble with them i'm sticking with what i got for now

Funny that....I've heard they were giving trouble but I've had no trouble with mine at all, not even the usual Nokia powering off Dropping Signal problems. (Mine has sofware V3.09) on it)

The only thing I would say is that It lacks memory - only holds about 3 Java Applications (depending on size), It can't send sound within a MMS (and only 1 image), and I also have the camera accessory for it and its often difficult to get a decent quality image on it as it's too hard to hold steady while pressing the button!.

Pics from 7210 (all in not so great room lighting) - Pretty crap really :
This one I took of the portable TV on the wall :

This one I took of my phone on my desk :
    7210.jpg

Thats the size they're taken at but if you reduce them in size by half, they're not too bad ...

After all that, It looks the bee's bo**ox and I like it, far better than an 8310.

heres the reply I got from vodafone today.
The Nokia 7210 is not due to be released until around July. We do not have a RRP as yet. The price will be announced closer to the time of release.

yeah, 3.09 is the one that's been giving people headaches, as i'm sure u know. 4.18 is the new version released in asia-pacific.
the memory is pretty small alright, and if you're gonna be taking a few pictures it'd probably make things worse. no denying its looks tho, i was holding one in my hand when i was in england a while ago and i so wanted it!

I remember Vodafone telling me that about the Nokia 8310 (that they would be out in about 3 months) and they came out 3 days later.

The reality is that the customer service representatives don't have a clue when new models will become available.

But I can tell you that I have it from a good source that they will be available by early to mid February at €399 with contract in the Vodafone Range - don't know about 02.

Strange look at this link on o2. It says "Available on Pay Monthly". Hopefully this means its near launch. http://www1.o2.ie/master?content=http://www1.o2.ie/products_services/mobiles/nokia_7210
