I can't think of a better place to put this, so here goes...

I'm looking to get a new mobile phone. Currently, I have a Panasonic GD-75 which is the best phone I've ever had in terms of what it does and how it serves me - vibration, scheduler, long SMS, big phone book. But, it's battery life is poor (charging every day because it's empty every day).

I WILL NOT USE A NOKIA PHONE!!! I just don't like them - and I don't trust the way Finland is slowly taking over Europe with it's phones...

I don't want pictures cause that's just a gimick I can live without. I want long battery life. A scheduler (I've gotten used to it). Blue Tooth is a very small factor - it'd be cool if it was thrown in, but wouldn't make a big difference to me.

Having had a really brief look around, the Panasonic GD-76 seems to fit the bill and it's the same thing as the last, so no learning curve :p

In an ideal world, I'd blag one of those PDA/Phone combos (akin to the XDA or something like that), but it's still a bit big and bulky and to be honest, it's just a glorified scheduler thingy (one of the lads here at work has one). OK, checking Email is handy enough and that would be a consideration if the phone had that sort of functionallity. The only major problem is, phone/pda combo thingys are so bloody expensive (and I'm rather broke).

So good people of the Wireless board (except ****), I throw myself at your mercy - find me a phone!

Why not buy a new battery if there still available?

Another (non Nokia) option to the SonyEricsson T68i is the Siemens S55, basically the same form factor / features but adds in Java support and Polyphonic ringtones. You may have to wait a little while before the Networks offer it as it was only released (sim free) to market in December.

If you not interested in pictures then either would be an option as they have both gone for a camera attachement rather than integrating it.

I prefer the T68i though with it's attachable Radio and MP3 Player accessories - alhtough had to buy a seperate 128MB MMC card and USB Reader to make using the MP3 player practical.
