anyone recommend a good MP3 player for running with?

also anyone recommend a good set of headphones for jogging with.
something that isn't too bulky and that stays on/in ears.

    TIA

Any solid state one will do (no moving parts). I have a Creative DAPII MG - it has 64mb on board, and I have a 128mb MMC card in it. Its perfect for the gym (I can watch Britney and Kylie on the screens, and listen to decent music on my MP3 player - best of both worlds! :D )

is it small enough to carry in your hand or perhaps strap to your arm?

Most mp3 players don't skip at all because there's no moving parts in them, and I would recommend neck band (no idea why they're called that) headphones for jogging.

i use a Sony Memory Stick walkman (they call them Network Walkmans now) in the gym - it's well small - they either come with built in memory or can take memory sticks - but usually the more expensive magic gate variety

looking at a Pananasonic eWare SD-80 MP3 player which is tiny and takes SD Cards

down side is MP3 players don't like sweat and the ones above don't take regular batteries

not sure of headphone for jogging - but a snug pair of in the ear sony digital/megabase ones do me grand when i'm on the treadmill - but in the ear are difficult to recommend - it depends on your ears :)
