It is actually getting annoying for me now. I love the Simpsons but whenever I see them on the box it's always the same re-runs. I am now just ignoring them when they come on.

Actually, that reminds me to cut down on my telly watching. ohm and all that.

You can never get sick of the Simpsons well the really old ones you can there crap but now there is family guy soooooooo much better

Sky 1 are the worst. They have a ton of newer episodes and they still show the same epiusodes from around 1993-1995.If they show the eps with Homers half brother or the golfing tournament one again Ill go mad! They have plenty of newer and better ones they can show.
The BBC pisses me off when they occasionally show episodes from 1990.What are they thinking? They were crap episodes! The humour that the later Simpsons delevoped is absent. Its just a boring kids show until after the first series.

As for Family Guy its first series was the best(oddly enough nobody except me seemed to watch it in the first series-I was begging my friends to watch it and nobody could be arsed). Now everyone is watching it but TBH it is a shadow of its former self, much like South Park.In its first series I have to be honest,I probably favoured Family Guy over the Simpsons but later episodes just have something missing. The flashbacks were alot better in the first series for example.Im not saying it isnt a good show-it is pretty funny. But only half as good as it was in the beginning.

..you could just switch off...and do something less boring instead. That's an idea.

Can you have a poll 'just sick of the simpsons .... FULL STOP?'

They should have killled that show off right after the Frank Grimes episode 4F19! in 1997!

    Go here to learn why

Its the early ones when Homers voice is diffferent I can't stand

    "Hello Boy"

Strangely enough, it's the newer ones where Bart's voice is different that annoy me.

Dunno how much truth this has but i heard that after the 200th episode spectacular (the one with U2 and the sanitation commiss) the regular writers left (to Futurama i think) and they got new ones in whose idea of comedy is to make homer steadily stupider and the rest of the characters steadily non existant.

    New Simpsons - suck

Family Guy - Pure class (when they are not censored/cut by Sky I.E. take all the funny bits out!)

    Futurama - going downhill slowly!

The Cartoon Network has bought Futurama, I read.
Family Gay is just too funny

    I've changed my mind.

The reruns are all I have.

Tonights new ep: "Helter Shelter" (s14ep5)

    Worst episode ever.

No laughs at all from me.

It pains me to have to criticise a show I love so much but I have to agree with Sceptre in saying "worst episode ever".Maybe it is just me but it almost appeared to me that the writewrs knew it was rubbish,as if appealing for us to stop watching and so kill off the show with bad ratings.I mean, did you hear Bart tonight(or was it Lisa I forget)
"Arent you guys sick of us getting into crazy adventures?"
IMO it is a subliminal cry for help,as if saying please let us die.I must have laughed out loud once or twice maximum tonight, and even then it wasnt at anything particuarly good.

In this episode there were quite a few opportunities for a good line to be inserted but for some reason the scene was allowed to die on its arse with lines which werent even supposed to be funny.

I am beginning to think Neil3030 is right about all the good scriptwriters being moved to Futurama.Who the heck is running it now?Im not panning all new episodes. The majority of them are of good enogu standard. Not the standard of yesteryear but good enough. But this was an embarrasment whereby the script should have been binned.

What highlights the lack of talent/ideas was,as previously said, that there must have been have a dozen instances where a funny line/action could have been inserted but that were ignored. The only bit I can remember laughing out loud at was Homer mistaking Lenny for Carl(although it isnt the first time he has needed help with who is who or forgot their names but still it was funny).

But turning up at Comic Book Guys house? They barely know him!Homer and Bart only half know him and even they hate him.

This was the lamest lets try and limp through half an hour episode I saw in ages.Bring back the old writing team!According to Pigmans link the scriptwriters are now largely people most used to sitcom writing.Im sure Im not alone in wanting real writers rather than gobsh1tes who worked on rubbish like Friends.Maybe they should do the lesser evil by cancelling Futurama and bringing all the old scriptwriters back to the Simpsons.Because this show needs rescuing quickly.

And the bit with the hose?WTF!!!??!Did they realise they still had half a minute to finish up and so rather than sit down and try to think of a decent end to the show put in this bizarrely unfunny scene? And Law and Order:Elevator Inspection Unit-it catches your eye as you expect some hilarious send up.Instead two cops realise an elevator button isnt working to which one replies"Im going to be sick".Eh???!!?

Sorry if this sounds like a mad rant but it was unbelieveably bad tonight.

these are the 2 bits i saw while i was waiting for Malcolm In The Middle to start. it was the biggest heap of ****e i have ever witnessed. the writers must be really desperate. i was waiting for a tumbleweed to roll past the television. it is disgusting what they have done to a once great television show  they should have let it die when they had the chance

Am I the only one who thought the first half of tonight's show - in parts - was better than a lot of what I've seen in this series thus far?

The Comic Book Guys house turnup had me scratching my head too... but the initial leadup kinda reminisced of old simpsons style I thought anyway.

The second half was pure crap though - I think the end is upon us (have been saying this for 18 months now though)

1st series of family guy was fantastic i must agree, although i was on cable connection back in scotland at the time and i was d/l mosta them off the net so i didnt get the "cut" episodes... and yeh i would have to agree even the flashbacks were better here, but family guy is still v.good imo.

I watched futurama in the first series and i thought it was pretty good, but ever since that first series i watched a few episodes and decided that i would rather keep my sanity, Bender was still pretty good though.

I only seen the last half of the new episode on sunday and i thought it was horrible, i was left scratching my head more and thinking "wtf is going on" rather than laughing at any parts..

If its true and the writers from back then went to futurama then i would say give futurama these writers that the simpsons took on afterwards...

oh and as for the question in topic, it all depends which re-run is on really, some of them i think are classics and could watch time and again ( homer in the circus one for example) but others i just cant stand to see (who shot mr.burns is a perfect example..)
