This was a post about how to change strings on a floyd rose guitar, i since found out how and tried but found it very frustrating and teadious so i'm just gona get a shop to do it.
Feel free to delete admins(or leave it up as a sign of my stupidity), i tried myself, wouldn't let me

I bought my new guitar recently
Washburn 'Rouge Star' (RS 980) in metalic grey
Which features the The Buzz Feiten Tuning System.

Jesus dont be such a pussy for ****s sake. Its a bit daunting I suppose..but ive no pity for ya.

Goto Musician Inc and buy a 'Roadie Wrench' they are like 30 quid basically tis kinda like an allen keys penknife dead handy for changing Floyd Rose type Tremelos. And a decent set of snips for cutting the strings. And a string winder too..basically everything you should allready have ;P

Im not going to write about setting up the action etc..theres allready loads of docs about that - google it. Once its done though its done..unless you change your string guages

Like I change my strings about every 2 weeks, and the day before gigs..your meant to unless you clean down your strings alot which I do also..but not as much as i should..having strings on a guitar for more than 5 - 6 weeks is a ****ing sin in my opinion. And if you break 1 you change the set. Guitar 101.

What the **** are you gonna do everytime you need new strings ?! Maybe go to the shop and get them to run you through it like ask them to physically show you..

    Have fun !

Like i said i found out how to do it,
Theres a big difference from theory and practice.
I replaced the Low E (top) fine
But i didn't have enough strings to re-string it :(

So either i'll just let the profesionals do it for me the first time
And if its too costly (which it isn't) i'll just buy a pack o strings and do it myself.

I had never strung a guitar that way before so i'd like to watch some one who KNOWS how first.

lol u can't expect me to just know everything i'm one of these weirdos walking around the place that has to learn stuff.

So any way I re-strung it myself,
and my back was killing me after lol (i'm gona sue my school for making me carry all those books i don't use)

I got a 'roadie rench' its a handy little thing to have, although i already had all the stuff on it (in bits)
The wire cutters on it aint great, can any one recommend a really sharp one? I always have problems cutting the high e.
Any who, in conclusion the 'roadie rench' is my new favourite 'tool' to whip out in front of friends :)

The whole string changing thing took me a while as i was told to strech em out until the streching no longer makes em go flat,
I set up the action fine too the whole thing was easier than i thought,

The most annoying part was winding the strings, the machine heads are real close together so i can't use one of those windy things plus it has that inverse headstock which doesn't help lol.

In a hope to give this thread a point,
    Hardcase vs Gigbag ?
I wanted to get a hard case for my guitar to protect it but the inverse headstock made it so it wouldn't fit in, so they gave me a really well padded gigbag FREE!. Whats your views?

That wasnt so hard now was it ?

Em a decent wire cutters..I have one of those mini tools with screwdrivers and pliers etc on it..even if you just grab where you want to cut the string with a pliers realy hard and like circle it till it snaps..

Daddario make a string winder..with a string strecthing yoke on it..not realy needed for Floyd Rose setups cause you can use the whammy bar ,handy regardless.

Hard case Vs Soft Case.. ask them to order you the hard case..and swap em back the soft case or something..had the same problem when i got my Mockingbird..was nothing it would fit in ..so i ended up with a bitch ass bass case..

    All the best
