Some time ago I bought a sky digibox and BBC card on Ebay. Everything worked fine for a while but then the I started getting "no satellite signal messages" at first I suspected the dish but having tried my own box on the line I found this worked OK. I turned out that my "new" box is faulty. I now have a BBC card but no box for it to work in. I heard that it should work in my own box, without BBC but with ITV, C4 and Five, but this isn't happening. What can I do now? I no longer have the details of the person I bought the box from so I can't activate the card with my box.
    Thanks.

Watching ITV, C4 or C5 wont happen straight away, have you left the card in your Irish box for a few hours (24 max) ?

I haven't tried that. I'll stick it in tonight and leave it until tomorrow night. Thanks.

If you are waiting for the channels to be switched on, you don't get the message "no satellite signal being recieved".
You get the actual channel info for the particular channel.
EG "BBC 2 offers viewers a diverse range of innovative programs blah blah"
I think there might be something wrong with your setup.

I was getting the "no satellite signal" on the box I got on Ebay, which has developed a fault, I got the message about upgrading my sub when I tried using the BBC card in my own box. I left the card in overnight and ITV, C4 and five are now working OK.

    Thanks for the info.
