    See here ... companies making robots that lay fiber INSIDE sewers .... dunno about getting that little orange cable into your jacks though

    Yeah, you just have to be careful and not expect it to solve all your problems. Bord Gáis was selling off it's disused (mains) pipes at one stage (Telenor were interested, but I think it died with the Esat / BT debacle).

    ESBI's fiber ring i finished they are launching services, mainly wholesale bandwith, in Jan-Feb.

    The firber is wrapped around their major powerlines.
