There's a whole pile of contenders for best intro, but my vote goes to AC/DC - Thunderstruck, an utterly kickass piece of guitar work from Angus, and great backing up with the vox and drums.

    AC/DC: ThunderStruck
Metallica: Master of Puppets, For Whom the Bell Tolls
Led Zeppelin: StairWay to Heaven (sorry, but it has to be included), Rock and Roll, American Woman
Gn'R: Sweet Child O'Mine, Welcome to the Jungle
MeatLoaf: Bat of Hell / Anything for Love
Jimi Hendrix: Voodoo Child (slight return), Little Wing
    Motorhead: The Ace of Spades
    Van Halen: Jump
    Eric Clapton: Layla (original version)
    Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody
Iron Maiden: Phantom of the Opera (the old daly thompson lucozade ad music)
The Rolling Stones: Paint it Black
Thin Lizzy: Parisienne Walkways, Dancin' in the Moonlight
    Nirvana: Smells Like Teen Spirit
    The Eagles: Hotel California

Blarg .. my mind is not operating fully so I KNOW I'm missing stuff.

Anyway, before someone goes "OH MAN I can't BELIEEEEVE you listed that song" let me state that I'm not just picking songs based on technical merit, but rather also on the impression they leave on the listener, the imagery/emotion they invoke, and do they set the tone for the rest of the song, etc.

Pearl Jam - Corduroy, Spin the Black Circle
Nirvana - Aneurysm, Breed, Teen Spirit, Love Buzz,
