The Financial Times reports that the European Commission will this week outline plans to intensify its crackdown on telecoms incumbents and for national governments to boost competition in the broadband market. In a draft annual report on the telecoms sector seen by the FT, Brussels authorities say they could take legal action against several countries, including Germany, the UK and Spain, unless the market for high-speed Internet services is opened further to competition. The Commission is especially concerned about the slow pace of measures to permit new entrants to the broadband market.

    Sounds promising :)
I wonder if Ireland will be on the final list? It might give certain people a nice wakeup call.

You would think the EU would be more interested in Irelands lack of Broadband seeing as we are a gateway into Europe for the States and we are also the only English speaking country in the Eurozone.

This looks likely to arise out of the 8th Implementation Hearing report which is a little late at this stage (was due outin the last week of November) , but when it comes out its bound to have the goods.

IOFFL attended the hearing on the 7th of October.
