Anyone out there got an MSI KT400 Ultra, I have. I also have a sound blaster live 5:1 in there which I would dearly like to take out and stick on another machine.

Now apparently the MSI board has a built in 5:1 setup via a cmedia branded chip. Has anyone any experience of this ? Can anyone tell me how it stacks up against the SB LIVE 5:1 ?

    C Media foookin rox.

Never had a problem with it ,gets updated regurlarly try Windows Update.

Sound is excelent tho i dont use it much (have an amp and a dvd player for TV) and it does well against that system.

Any board that has C Media is an excellent investment.

I thought MSI use Realtek Audio chips ?

Mostly they do. The cheaper KT400 V uses Realtek. It's one of the few differences between the KT400 Ultra and KT400 V
