Anyone know when the 64mb Version of the XDA will be released here, an O2 rep said maybe near the end of december.

    Anyone got any inside info????

    Thanks

it's listed on the Asia site - suppose they will hold off launching it to their networks here until they shift stock of the original version

differences are 64MB user RAM and GPRS Class http://www.myxda.com/web/template/XdaSpecification.vm

there was an expectation of more for a new version of the XDA - a better screen (16bit and transflective like the newer iPAQS) - and that the SD slot would be updated to SDIO to allow attaching "smart" SD Cards rather than just Memory Cards - no official line from O2 on this side of the globe as yet

with a GSM/GPRS iPAQ due out from HP with all the bells and whistels the iPAQ can muster - the XDA is going to have some tough competition - expect O2 hope the utilities/apps they bundle and the level of subsidy it offers will be enough?

I was reading an article in an English mobile phone mag last week. At the rate o2 are selling the xda at the moment ( 400 a month ) they will have about 2 years of stock left.

Bottom line is they bought too many, dont know if this is the case though.

Correct, they miscalculated badly abd have a vast number of them. They will soon have to deeply discount to around €299 or UK £199 to shift them
