If it ain't Visual Pinball or PinMAME I ain't playin it. These are in effect Real pinball machines. Your right I don't think Pinball was that popular in Ireland, but I've become interested in it from an emulation point of view;)

I've played Visual Pinball and PinMAME, but it just ain't the same as the real thing....

I was asking as I though someone might have one to sell - I've renovated one's before, and they're in Storage in Sweden right now until I have space for them back here in Dublin.....

There was a guy here I spoke to before who was into doing them and old cabinate games up. They were taking over his house if I remember right. Do a search in the archives of these boards for 'pinball', you should find his contact details.

Pin ball is so much fun!

All time favourite has to be the Adams Family made back in the 60s/70s.

Didnt really seem to take off here in Ireland as it did in other countries, shame.

Hmmm...I didn't think there was an Adams Family Pin from the 60s/70s - Are you sure you don't mean the 1994 game from Bally ?
    Have a look here

I stand corrected by an decade or two ;)

The machine certainly does look more old skool than the 90's.

But yes that is the one, best pinball machine going i think ;)

It's excellent all right. Star Trek: The Next Generation and Twilight Zone are also fantastic.

They also did an Adams Family Gold edition one - big time collector's item.

My Fav was `the twlight zone`.

I got fed up and started playing amiga pinball. fantasies/dreams. Have those games for the pc now and an amiga emu. But im playing arcade pinball by by GSP. got in in game on a 2 for 3 deal budget thingy with rage rally and expendable!

i ve only just read down through the whole thread now and i might know a guy who can help you get pin ball machines as he used to work in an arcade in warterford back home and is still in tough with them. He was offering to get me an old arcade cabinite a while back but i have no way right now of getting it to blanch. I`ll ask him to morrow for you man i`ll see him in work!

I was also going to say star trek was my other fav pinball machine but i dident i case people thought me too nerdy, but hell who am i telling here ;p

Bit of a concidence that, of just means that they were the best REAL pinball tables!

Is that the same Bally that owns a casino in las vegas? Are they some kinda big pinball/slotmachine type comapny or something?

The price doesn't depend on the Machine producer, but the actual game - for example, Popeye is widely regarded to be terrible and most pinhead wouldn't buy it att all - however a good machine, like a Star Trek: The Next generation will set you back about 1500 Euro in the UK or the states and the most expensive machine is Medevil Madness (The have one in very bad condition in Dr Quirkeys) is worth about 5000 in the states. When I was in Sweden a guy I knew bought a "Tales of the Arabian Nights" pin and he sold it ot a guy inthe US. Tje guy in the US even paid for flight freight to the US he wanted it so bad !!

Here's a Star Trek: The Next Generation on eBay in the US:
    Here

I own one of these (currently in Sweden) and I got it cheap - it was missing the Dot-matrix Display, and some of the electonic boards were missing also. The thing was filty also. I totally restored it (took about 2 months) and evantually the whole think cost around 650 Euro - so I reckon I could sell it and double my money if I wanted...but hopefully I'm gonna buy a house here next year and I'll have room for it then (Along with my "Doctor Who" and "Black Hole" machine) :D

I had a website will all my Pinbal Stuff on it - I'll put it back up and then let y'all know so yiz can have a look - I also had a wee page with the MAME Arcade Cab I made - I might put that back up also

Real pinball machines are the ultimate boyz toy... I am extremely envious of anyone who has one in their house ;)

The pc games on the other hand have all been consistantly crap imho :(

I was addicted to pinball back in the day and still feel the pull when I hear those paddles!

all the staff in the arcade LOVED pinball. There was a skill NAD an element of chance there that just isn't there with videogames (Well, certainly not at THAT time in the early 90's anyway). As a result, our pinball tables were always in immaculate condition. The rubbers and solonoids replaced at the sight of any wear or tear or weakness and lag, the lights replaced immediatly and the volume WAYYYYY up: IT'S SHOWTIME!!!!! The tables, glass and inner surface, polished each week.We used to have the tables in a corner a bit out of the way so the volume could be high and a little darker and out of direct sunlight to avoid glare. The Adams Family, as has been mentioned was probably one of the best tables of all time (Certainly the best table I ever played) Other great tables were Hook (From the dire movie. Great table though) and, for old school, Harlem Globetrotters.

I haven't tried out pinMAMe or visual pin was it? What are the ball physics like on them? Let's face it, that's the main thing. Has anybody compared a real table to it's virtual counterpart?
