for those of us who are still young/old enough to remember these atrocities, and in the light of recent events, i.e. the death of myra hindley, i am wondering what you think about recent media reports that ian brady is on hunger-strike and his goal is to die. what are yours opinions? personally, i think he should be allowed to die, but not before he reveals the whereabouts of the grave of keith bennet, or at least shed more light on this issue. i believe he knows more than he and his "partner in crime" have admitted to, and if only for the peace of mind of keith benett"s family he should therefore be kept alive.

there are those in britain who argue that he should have been hung 30+ years ago, but who at the same time argue that he should be kept alive to suffer the tortures of hell. either he dies, or he is kept alive and suffers. we can't have it both ways.

*shrug* Let him die. I don't believe he knows any more about where that grave is - and nor did Myra Hindley, who would undoubtedly have told the police if she knew anything more.

It's a bit sad, to my mind, that Hindley - the accomplice who by all accounts was terrified of Brady - will always be remembered as the face of evil, and most people don't even know who Ian Brady is.

Agreed - everyone demonised her, when I firmly beleive he was the driving force behind it all. Well, such is life - it's all over for her now anyway.

I think they are 2 of the most evil people ever to live. I remember seeing a documentry about 9 months ago about them. They killed (I think) 5 kids. They tape recorded one of the kids they murdered. When the police found the tape the parents had to listen to it to identify the voice. Imagine hearing your own child begging for his life, and been tortured.

I hope that the bitch is burning in hell and that Brady joins her soon.

How can you say she wasn't as much to blame as he was. They tortured and killed 5 kids. You don't do that because your "led" on.

I remember reading a book by a leading profiler who worked on cases such as that of Fred and Rosemary West. There was some idea at the time that Fred was the driving force behind the killings and Rosemary was ''led on'', as similar to what is stated about Hindley and Brady and the book went on to explain how this can occur. While neither can be defended, it does shed some light on this idea.

I'll have a scout around for the book and see what it says exactly.
