hmmmm, doubt it, maybe DJ Shadow, it's the only half decent album in the list.

Best I bought this year is Scooter-Push This Beat For This Jam.F`uckin classic.

And Tenacious D for comedy value :D

Havnt actually heard any of the albums on the list but TBF it isnt an impartial poll is it?The vast majority of the options are indie/heavy metal.
And BTW is Blackalicious hip hop?Honestly,I am a big hip hop fan and I frequent a few forums on the subject but I have never heard oif the guy anywhere except on boards.ie.Ive never seen his music on sale anywhere.Ive looked in HMV,Virgin and a few smaller places just to see what the hype is about.I have asked all my friedns who are hip hop fans(one of them has over 80 albums, some from fairly obscure artists)and they have never heard of him either.
Who the feck is he? And why are the members of this board seem to be the only people who have heard of him?

    Blackalicious is 2 people.
    Chief Xcel - Dj/Producer
    Gift of Gab - Emcee

You can buy their albums in both HMV and Tower. Blazing Arrow is the new one and Nia is the first one. I havent seen Nia around lately but Blazing Arrow is easily available.
    www.blackalicious.com
    www.quannum.com
Will give you more info on them.
They were here in concert on 8th of November in the Redbox. At least I think it was the 8th. It was not last Friday but the one before that whatever date that is.
The members of boards obviously are not the only people that know of them we are just the most educated and smartest :).
I have asked all my friedns who are hip hop fans(one of them has over 80 albums, some from fairly obscure artists)and they have never heard of him either.

Who would you classify as obscure? Anybody not on MTV?
Anyway. Vote for Blazing Arrow it's great.

heavy metal? which one is heavy metal then? :)
they're all indie/pop except for rhcp/foofighters which are rock and blackalicious (hip/hop)..

Granted they're not that well-known in the mainstream, but I don't know anyone who has a clue about hip-hop who hasn't heard of them, guaranteed HMV on Grafton or Henry St. will stock either Nia or Blazing Arrow :)
(for your info: they are a MC/DJ duo from SF Bay Area, who are part of the Quannum crew (Dj Shadow/Blackalicious/Latyrx))

A rush of Blood to the Head! Class!

Though I'd imagine the RHCP album would be good too.

As for tenaciousD, it's funneh, but not worthy of Best Album! :)

    d'oh
you know what i mean though
    right?

There was a cap of ten.

How many do you want 100’s?

We could put widely unknown albums here but ever one would ask who or why aren’t so and so here?

No matter what you do some one going to disagree, I don’t think Best Album is as fecked up as some of the other polls were.

Doves - The Last Braodcast. All the way.

Have to go for RHCP, its even better than Californication, and thats enough for me. Might be tempted to buy Coldplays though, the arselicking critics can't all be wrong, or can they?

Mainstream Albums. The Strokes should be there somewhere. What about U2 as well. Ryan Adams. Perhaps you should include an 'other album' option.

all the acts you listed are very much so mainstream!

U2 - no new album in 2002. (Best of, doesnt count)
The Strokes - no new album in 2002.
Ryan Adams - no new album in 2002.

    no more silly posts please

Most a them options are good proper music, stop complaining!

Coldplay - Rush Of Blood To The Head has to be the best album of 2002 its just an unbelievable album, pure bliss!

So were you deliberately looking to be deemed git of the year by helping choose Coldplays crap as album of the year?

    Congrats!

Isnt it time to unsticky all these polls and maybe just have one sticky thread with the winners.
The board is awfully clogged with all these redundant threads atm.
