Am I stupid or something?

Okay, I started learning Java when I started in college 2 months ago. I can't even get the basic concepts. I get me practicals done every week with the demonstrator telling me what to do. Now the xmas test is in 3 weeks, it counts for 30%, 70 of the 100 MCQ's are on Java and I'm thinking I'm fairly screwed.
Can anybody suggest any good books or websites for (inept) beginning programmers? I need to pass CS this year to make 2nd maths science.

It's a big book though and you don't have much time.

It s only 192 pages and you will get to know some java programming.

There'll be a few grinds and tutorials on before the exams (I don't remember an xmas exam in CS, anyway...). If you're really stuck, drop me a PM and I'll give you a quick tutorial. Tis easy really.........

Best thing is just to get a basic book from the library and sit at a computer doing up programs.

You can't of gotten to far in yet (especially in ucd )
