yeah , its a bitch. there should be some task for it to do.Theres **** all info on the net aswell. i dont think the pressure has to be constant though.

Is this a bit like the higher project back in 1999 or 2000?

What was on those years? An air compressor takes in air at atmospheric pressure and releases it at a higher pressure.

It's easy enough, the only problems I'm having difficulties with are the safety cut-off and the pressure indicator.

I think you can just buy in a pressure indicator and fit it on. Its too specialist to make ourselves.

U can't buy the pressure indicator... "Brought in electronics will result in lost marks"

They just mean SHOW compression.. ie. LED goes off when piston head is at the top of cylinder ( i know this doesnt count for sh!t cuz there could be no compression at all, but it's only a model)
I was thinkin of having a small container of water as an indicator.. water bubbles up when air is passed through.. of course the valve situation on this would be very hard.

What kindsa valves are ye making? Ball and spring?
and how are ye operating the flap? Is it inside your cylinder or out?

Oh and that project ye're talkin bout was is a carburetor.. There is still some projects lying around our engineering room..
it had to mix fuel (water) and air i think.. the project looks the same alright... perspex tubing and transparent rubber tubes all over the gaf!

i did the carby whatever was a v easy one last years was a bit tougher,a compressor sounds fairly easy all you need to make are the pistons etc which if your descent on a lathe will be no hassle

the piston is the easiest part danny!

    Hey NekkidBibleman.. see attachment..
Or if anyone else wants to see a safety cut out suggestion flake away..

yeah i did the carburretor back in 2000 at first we thought it was dodgy but if you actually take the time to get a book on a compressor and find out what it does how it does it and how it works youll find it will b a lot easier to design.i have a compressor at home we use to spray with....its basically a chamber with air in it...when compressed its power is used....what you should is get a pressure gauge and make a chamber that will allow you to pressurise the air in doing this the pressure gauge will go up ..hence you have a compressor.....

Eh, Flynn theres a problem with that piston chamber - the inlet flap is on the wrong way (and needs a spring).

Are ye allowed but in a commercial pressure valve? or make a spring valve? or use a balloon?

yeah i know (whoops) well i was kinda thinkin of leavin it like that and setting up some pully and string device that opens and closes it.. but that may be too complicated..

its feckin hard enough project.. i've got fuk all done..

I dunno about commercial valve.. will prolly loose marks.. ball and spring wudnt be too difficult...
yeah we can use balloon.. to indicate presure?
