    Just a thought from a Liverpool fan.

    TRS have slagged us of endlessly for putting an effort into the Worthington Cup. We saw it as a way to getting into Europe as well as winning some more silverware.

    What do ye make of TRS playing Becksie for the first Worthy game in 7 years. Could it be;

    1. They reckon they have no chance of making the CL and want to increase their EUFA cup chances
    2. Becksie was afraid to stay at home in case he got kidnapped.

    1. Ummmm, you have not woke up yet!!! :D

    2. probably!!

    The reason he played his was because he is suspended Saturday for the match against the massives so he wanted to keep the fuc from going braindead! (I know this has already happened)!

    Maybe its because they want to go one better than when they won the "real" treble in 1999 :)

    Leave History in the past sposs, Liverpool have a better past record than United, and that is all there is to it.

    I think the reason that United want to do well is so that there is a forum for fielding newer/younger/untried players in a competitive environment.

    It could come in handy later in the season for use as a banned game for one or two players who could be in suspension trouble.

    haha yeah i think fergie and houllier are being quite clever in trying to get as far as they can in this competition as further down the line it may be useful to use up bans and things like that.........

    I think the board, not Fergie want to see Utd at least try and win the Worthless Cup, I'm sure that and the FA Cup will be seen as
    stand-bys if the top 4 of the championship is beyond them....(well it could happen!)

    Mike.

    It also lets players that never get a game show what they can do. Kirkland for example. Maybe now he might get to start some real matches.

    The glamour of domestic cups is dead. They only serve the purpose of getting a European slot. You could ban the top half of the Premiership from entering them but then a lot of people wouldnt bother watching it.
