I notice that some ad. agencies are organising ad. campaigns across TV channels and networks. I saw the Carlsberg "best nightclub" ad. on 4 different channels simultaneously the other night.

I've noticed this a bit too.
But what is really annoying, is when, you see an ad on say net2 then you switch to ch4 and it has just come on there. My record for seeing this happen is 3 times. I cant remember what ad it was but I thought I was going insane.

    I don't think it's a campaign..
Just a coincidence.. it doesn't happen too often

Welcome to the world of fifty something channels anf nothing on...we have it great though..imagine an ad break every 8 minutes or the soon to be introduced:

    "pop-ups" during your favourite program.

    It will only get worse.

Its deliberate, no question. Marketing does'nt do coincidence...
The digital only channels are, just to make things worse,
co-ordinating thier ad breaks more and more so theres no escape.
Sod it, the remote control was'nt just invented to allow uninterupted slobbiness!

    Mike.

Im fairly sure its just co-incidence.

In the last year or so, all channels have been showing localised irish ads, whereas with sky, ch4 and UTV we got the NI versions of a lot of ad breaks. Now theres just more chance of seeing the same ads which are in rotation.

As to the stations timing thier breaks to the same time, thats down to programme formats, they are fairly standard when it comes to buy-ins from America and altho there are differences between an english TV hour and an irish TV hour, the guidelines for where the breaks come are fairly similar.

I've my doubts myself TBH but I'm quite interested in hearing the true story if Dustaz can find out.

The Peugeot campaign was an organised channel jam - the media went on about it before it kicked off.
