They got rid of there 2 drivers and brought in cheap replacements.... They must be havin' money troubles....

Irvine was on massive wages there ..... I doubt he'd get the same deal with Jordan ...

    Ford with money troubles..../s******

Irvine was **apparently** on $12m which is a lot but nothing too extreme but Irvine is too lazy and De la Rosa has been too slow.

Webber looks a safe bet but nothing special...

Don't think Sato's gone , and Irvine is not signed to them ; I was just saying that Jordan would probably not pay as much for Irvine as Jaguar were paying , if Jordan got him that is ....

He's better than Sato IMO even if he's an arrogant bástardo

I stopped watching F1 a couple of years ago, as I think its boring these days but..

Someone explain to me why would EJ want a has been/never was like Irvine?

Eddie may be Irish and cool, but he will never be a quality F1 driver who will score top points, and even win races all the time. Not winning the championship in the best package by a million miles at Ferrari a few years ago proved that.

Should EJ not be doing what he does best and looking around for great young cheap tallent. He has been so good at picking the F3000 people at the right time in the past.

:::: From the Irish Times ::::::

Eddie Irvine has admitted that his only real hope of remaining in Formula One for the 2003 season lies with Jordan, the team who gave him his big break in F1 in 1993.

Irvine, released by Jaguar Racing on Friday, has also admitted that his plans are up in the air, with former boss Eddie Jordan his best hope of employment next season.

"I suppose the new Jordan-Ford is now the only place left for me," said the Irishman. "There's no point in saying much else at the moment."

Irvine was puzzled by Jaguar's failure even to table an offer for him to remain with the team he has been with since they entered the sport in the 2000 season.

"Niki Lauda kept saying we've no money," Irvine told The Guardian. "Well I can tell you that money isn't an issue for me at this stage of my career.

"I told him to make me an offer. I don't need the money, just promise me a good car. The offer never came. It's all a bit bizarre."

Irvine and team-mate Pedro da la Rosa have been replaced by Mark Webber and Antonio Pizzonia.

Maybe Eddie should retire and take up an advisory role at one of the teams, like Berger at BMW Williams. He has lots to offer in that position cos he has so much experience.
