Some cool NASA footage

    Just in case anyone is interested, here's a pointer to some cool footage of the latest Shuttle launch (It was Atlantis - STS-112 a couple of weeks back).

    What was different about this was that for the first time NASA had mounted a video camera on the external fuel tank itself, so you get some great shots looking back down as the whole thing heads for orbit.

    There is one amazing shot where the curve of the earth is just coming into view. Pretty stunning - almost as good as being there (well, not really...) It cuts out just before they jettison the twin external boosters. I think NASA are planning to do this again, so hopefully future launches will give even more impressive pictures.
