The Album Archive 24/10/02 "Revolver" - The Beatles

In 1966, Finally sick of being squawked at by pre-pubescent girls, The Fab Four decided "Sod this touring lark" and went off to write some songs that they couldn't play live. The result was the Revolver LP, commonly voted the best rock album of all time. Even if you don't agree, tune in this Thursday at 8pm for The Album Archive where we kneel at the altar of The Cool One, The Irritating One, The Quiet One and Ringo.

Revolver was the album that bridged the "lovable mop-tops" era and the "Moustachioed 'We're Starting To Hate Each Other'" era, and bejayzus did it include some great songs; Here, There and Everywhere, Eleanor Rigby, Tomorrow Never Knows and, er....Yellow Submarine, to name but a few. I know practically all of you know the album backwards, but have you heard demo versions, alternative versions or live versions of it's tracks? Well you will. And for that 0.000001% of you who've never heard the album, avoid being pointed and laughed at by your mates in your 'What's Revolver?' ignorance by spending an hour in the company of The Fabs and me, this Thursday at 8pm on Phantom.

    Regards

    Rob
