    "Manhunter" (the original version of 'Red Dragon') is on Film Four tonight at 10, for those of us who subscribe.

    seen manhunter before, great film.

    Whats the connection with manhunter and the hannibal movies as i have never seen silence of the lambs or hannibal. and then someone told me red dragon is the prequel to silence of lambs?

    Manhunter is essentially the prequel to Silence of the Lambs. Red Dragon is a remake of it.

    Its connection with SOTM and Hannibal is ... well... it's the movie of the first in the series of the Hannibal books by Thomas Harris... it features Hannibal Lector, the FBI and a crazed killer... ... what more do you want?

    The only reason Manhunter has been remade is to
    a- make money and b- make it fit the Anthony Hopkins
    version of Lector ie hammy not creepy like Brian Cox,
    and the same visual look again hammy grand guignol
    rather than stark and er creepy.

    ive only seen manhunter and silence of the lambs, the trailers for the others turn me off. Would I really be afraid of a slavering parody of a canibal not out place in a spoof?

    It might now that red dragon is getting all the focus, whats the chance of getting it in Xtraviaion?
