Last time I looked I couldn't find any authorised service points in the (Dublin) city center.

Was trying to get an Ericsson R520m updated, only place that would do it was Sigma Telecom. I used their www.fonefix.ie service (via SDS Postal explained on the site). They will do the T68i also.

You could call them and see if dropping out is a possibility, maybe it could be done faster by calling and arranging a slot in advance?

St. Margarets Rd, Finglas, Dublin 11. 1850 660000

I needed to include proof of purchase for the warranty and a reason why the upgrade was required.

To check T68x using Joystick (for previous Ericsson's use the right and left keys) and Star key sequence:
Right, Star, Left, Left, Star, Left, Star (>*<<*<*)
    Service Info
    SW information

I was looking for somewhere to bring my T39 to get the latest software too (to fix the battery standby issue). Planning to go to a service center in the UK sometime to do it for free. Would a paypal invoice be good enough for proof of purchase for fonefix (got my t39 on ebay)?

not sure about that one, think they need an original receipt showing the phone was first purchsed on date X so they can work out the warrany period

i've pm'ed the ericsson person's contact details, or you can try info@sigma.ie mentioning it's FAO Ericsson Handsets

Well just to let you know sigma would not apply the T68i firmware upgrade to my T68 even after Ericsson said they could. The reason being the T68 never went on sale here (I got mine in London when I was living there).

That's strange - got my R520m from the UK too and Sigma updated it for me.

Although the first time I called Ericsson support they said the only way was to send it to the UK to have it done, then they double checked and said Sigma would do it for me.

I think the point with the T68 was the T68 never got released here so they wouldn't do it.

fair enough - but the R520m was never released here either and they still updated it

checked it out by email first and they said send it in using the www.fonefix.ie service and they would get the software version I needed over and update it

MPRC, based in Sandyford Industrial Estate, can do all that sort of stuff, although I don't know if they service the general public.
