Just wondering, anyone remember those made-for-tv ewok films? battle for endor and the other one, caravan of courage ( i think). Goddamn videos are deleted though, and I doubt lucas will put them on dvd 'cos he's gone kinda crazy. Damn, they were good films, i'd love to see them again (even though i'm probably pretty far outside the target audience age now ;) )

I remember 2 ewok movies that were made as proper moives but never any ones just for tv. Caravan of Courage was the first but I cant remember the name of the second.

Venom, I think there were two, and they were in fact made for tv in the US, but with a MUCH bigger budget and much better effects/production than the usual tv movie crap. They proved pretty popular, and they decided to give them a theatrical release in Europe ^_^ . On a different subject, why does everyone hate Ewoks anyway? They're totally cool and 80's-y, way better than anything from episode 1/2 anyway ;)

/|/)etal)-|ead there WERE 2 Ewok movies.

I cant comment on them being TVM's in the states and movie release's over here as I just remember them as being movie releases over here.

Everyone hates the Ewoks coz they suck jawas bollock.

Apparently they used the sets left over from Return of the Jedi, so thats probably why they seem much better quality than most made-for-tv stuff ;) Gotta love that stop-motion animation too, imho its way more realistic than CG.

I've always known of the existence of these films but as I sat down the other day to 'rewatch' these two films I finally realised that I'd never actually seen either of them before and somehow had only falsely remembered doing so.

Anyway I get thru them and I have to say tho they're pretty good (and certainly not the disasters I'd forseen them being). They are both reasonable from a technical pov of and in story. Get past the fact that it's an uber-kids film full of ewoks then you might enjoy it yourself.

Also despite being a tv movie the special effect in the Battle Of Endor film are (whilst not "Star Wars" good) are probably as good as nearly any feature film from the era! The stop-motion (or is it go-motion?) on those piranha-walkers in particular is very impressive.

Anyway I'd give Caravan of Courage 7/10 and Battle for Endor 8/10 (it wins because it has better effects, less of that annoying Mace kid (yes his name is Mace! :) ) and even a small role for recently departed actor Paul Gleason!).

Never watched them myself, as an avid hater of the ewoks - might give them a spin after those words of (relative) praise pigman :)

Well like I say be warned CC and BFE are uber-cutesy-kid movies and bare little resembalance to the Star Wars movies either. Also where you might expect the force, lightsabre battles and spaceships wizzing around you get ewoks, ewoks and more ewoks.

I guess they're the kind of movies you have to be in the mood for.
