IS BACK THIS THURSDAY ON BBC2!!!

Just in case ye didnt know all ready. :)
I bought Bizarre magazine for the first time yesterday solely because Papa Lazarou was on the cover.
it was a good preview of the upcoming series but the rest is just plain fnuked up.
If youre a fan of the series its worth a read though. :)

Just as an example of this series' fun,
You'll remember Pauline(she used to run the restart centre) that held Ross(the undercover guy that tried to expose Pauline for what she was) hostage and then kill him.
shes in a womens prison (called H.M. Prison ClitClink) now and already moved to the top of the prison "b!tch" hierarchy, doing favours in return for pens. :)

theres new characters aswell but i dont have time to write about them all.

    "You're my wife now Dave."

I'm going to miss it, are there going to be repeats ?

Pauline didn't kill Ross, you fool! Oh, and apparently the League will be on Richard and Judy this week, and on RI: SE 9early morning channel 4 thing) this Friday. Bonzer!

And, oooh, more Papa Lazarou and the return of Tubbs and Edward... "We're alive!"

Oops, I know she didnt kill him, i meant tried to kill him. doh.

Just downloaded the trailer for series 3 from HERE
    (just 1 mb)

    spoiler of clip:
If you'll remember Babs the sex change cabbie married their tubbs and edwards son david.
"she" is seen leaving a funeral wreath in the fire gutted local shop.
after babs drives off in her cab, edwards hand bursts from under the floor through the center of the wreath, followed by tubbs' whose hand bursts upwards holding a snow globe aka special thing

t minus, ehhh not long, till episode 1.

I watched it and thought it was rubbish. If anyone can point out what's supposed to be so funny about it, please do. Student toilet humour. Men in drag. Stupid.

Goddammit, missed it last night. It's a top class show, but it takes a while to get into, a lot of in-jokes but some really great black humour. Good to hear Edward and Tubbs (my fav) are alive and well. Anybody else see it?

Very funny but not as good as the originals. They were so so funny.

Won't stop me watching it though. Class :)

To be honest, i was a bit disappointed with last nights show.
True there was good bits in it, but its changed a lot from the other series'.

as for the scene at the party with pauline and mickey.
imo there was no need for it.

still though, as gordon said its not gonna stop me watching it next week :)

wtf's happened to it??? They've ruined it, the bastards!!
Everythings changed, it's not funny anymore :(

I think one of them must've married a Japanese conceptual artist or something.

Yeh, mebbe shes called Joko Nono, geddit? :p

In case ye dont know aswell, this series takes place over the same day, or 2 and so each story joins up with the last.

its still funny, but no where near the same.
    pity that...

they shouldnt have changed the title music, it seems they've added some sort of stupid dance beat to it.

theres also the obvious absence of the laugh track,
so a lot of new watchers dont know when to laugh.
sadly people need to be told when to laugh sometimes.

Ah I think you're all just miffed cos they killed off Tubbs and Edward.

It's still got 4 eps to go and the show always seems better when each series has been tied together and made sense of.

    Damn Straight! :)
imo they were two of the best television characters ever.

But despite the complaining we're still gonna watch it, without a doubt.

You know what? this new series is starting to really grow on me! Actually the last episodes were absolutely brilliant! Even the new theme tune doesn't bother me anymore.

I think I was just afraid of change, of trying new things. In fact, isn't that the underlying message, that at heart we are all Edward and Tubs?

    Or something like that.

Probably! I after all declared I'm Alan Partridge to be kack after seeing the first episode of it back in 1997 due mainly to it not being like KMKY which I had been expecting. Today I declare IAP to probably be my favorite comedy of all time. I guess all the best things in life don't come straight away.

I think you'll find the new music is quite purposeful - you'll notice that the old score is at the beginning of episode one, but the new one cuts in just as Tubbs and Edward snuff it (again) - kind of signalling the less 'local' atmos of the new series. Hell, one episode was even set in LUN-DON!

The new format for each of the episodes was nice I resh, I thought, though I can understand some fans being let down. Epsisodes 3 and 4 (the one with Geoff's stand-up career and the one with the Windermere Bed and Breakfast) were pretty pants, though Legz Akimbo in ep 3 were fantastic. As was every other single episode, and as for the last one... absolute gold...

Well ep.6 - last nights episode wan't great I felt. Some good points ie Papa Lazarou (except for the people stuck in the animals), but it will still be sad to see it go. I did like how they tied in everything into the one situation at the end.

I may just go and buy the old series on dvd

The Christmas Special's out on DVD soon, apparently. Huzzah!

I thought episode 6 was greatness, although, yes, the animal thing really didn't fit in at all. I mean, really. Pap Lazarou's house, tohugh, was fantastic, and frightningly believable. They've gone all Silenvce of the Lambs on us!

I love the league of gentlemen and have the dvds to prove it but i keep missing the new episodes.

Are the episodes going to be repeated when this season is over?

They will live forever on the Beeb and UK Gold. I wonder will RTE buy them in again. When they come out on DVD I'll buy em too. I missed everyone of the new episodes. :(

I emailed RTE with just such a question, and the answer was no. And no to the Christmas Special, too. Bah.

"It's been a long time, Dave..."
