Me dont believe it-the Sopranos starts this week for its 4th series this week(Tuesday on Network 2 I think but you ought to check). Its not often I(or any1 for that matter)congratulates RTE but getting a brilliant American series on tv here only a week or 2 after the series kicks off in the states is highly commendable.Well done RTE!(God i cant believe im saying that-next thing ill be singing the praises of errorcoms internet service)
    Cant wait till it starts:)

In fairness to RTE, they often show new series of stuff soon after the American release.
And alot of times they have caught up with America and been forced to show repeats. Which used to always mean Sky would catch up on RTE.
It used to always happen with Friends.

Yeah, great news. Reading the RTE Guide, they say that the first episode aired in the US last Sunday (15th) and that preview copies were unavailable. Not surprising. Roll on Tuesday @22.25.

The fact that the first 3 series of The Sopranos were on RTE before any english station seems to have escaped you.

I think that story about them turning down Father Ted is actually apocryphal.

Must you find fault with everything I say? I know well that we have always been ahead of the UK in getting USTV first. But last year Network 2 was only about 2 episodes ahead of channel 4.This is different-even the simpsons takes a good few weeks to reach sky 1,even though theyre all in the same ownership.Id say were probably the first place outside the US and Canada to see the show :)

They were approached with an early draft, and turned it down.

Look up, Daveirl - That's my ironic comment flying right over your head
    :D

Great show, huh? If a little bleak/depressing - but I guess that's the way they intended. Paulie looked pretty uncomfortable in the bright orange jumpsuit!

    My favourite line;

Tony: Go on, Sil - tell 'em what two businesses traditionally do well in recession

Silvio (looking grumpier than ever): Eh, certain aspects of showbusiness, and our thing.

Raniny day-Are you new to the show?I know some of it may be a little on the dark side or whatever but it is actually a very funny programme.Watch out for some great one liners from Paulie and Ralphie-theyd some great ones last season:D One of my favourite Paulie quotes is when theyre in the forest lost and wondering whether the russian strongman they tried to kill is really dead.Hes strong but unarmed
Chris-What if the russian comes after us?
Paulie-And whats he gonna kill us with? His dick?!!?
    :D
And Ralphies long running obsession with the film Gladiator also gave a good few laughs.
As for last night very good episode.

I've just realised how sarky my last post was. I really didn't intend it to come out that way.

I'm a huge Soprano's fan, and it has some amazingly funny lines, like the whole hunch-back/quarter-back thing from last night. I loved the episode you mention with Chrissy & Paulie in the woods.

Tony (on cellphone): He killed 17 Chechyens - He's with the Ministry of the Interior.
Paulie : He's an interior decorator
Chrissy: That's funny - I thought his apartment was a mess

I just found last night's show to be a bit bleak & depressing. I presume that was what the director intended though - setting the tone for a post-Sept-11 environment.

    Beaut of a show

I think Carmella got the best line with:

"If you get a bike I'll cut your legs off myself"

It's a great show, but I'm getting really pi$$ed off with those tacky Miller ads at the breaks. They are just so corny & unimaginative. I think I'll just tape the show & FFWD through the ads in future.

No I find the Miller sponsorship ads very funny:) I usually detest sponsorship as most of the ads are absoloutely brutal but these ones are funny:)
"Do I wanna notha Milla?Course I wanna notha Milla ya f`uckin gamoosh!"
    :D:D
