    I've been hearing alot of things about .ogg recently
    just wondering, anyone know if its worth it converting my mp3s to oggs?

    havnt really looked into it, but they seem to be roughly the same size + quality as mp3's.
    i converted a few tunes to .ogg for serious sam 2, but didnt notice any major reasons to stop using mp3's

    You may lose some quality in converting from an existing compressed format to another where the payoff in terms of disk space will only be minor.

    It might, however, be worth using the format for new rips.

    There will be a big interest in ogg files now that the patent holders for the mp3 codec have changed the license to a fee paying one.

    Everyone who makes mp3 decoding hardware/software must pay a royalty to use the codec while with ogg you dont.
