Dont know if anything regarding West Papua (irian jaya) has been posted here before!
I happened a cross a documentary about two months ago on BBC 2 about two guys who decided to climb a mountain retracing the footsteps of an adventurer about 60 years previously!
The area through which they travelled was amazing, a complete eye opener to me!
Of course I had heard of Papua New Guinea and its cultures but believed that that "era" had long past!
Having seen this film I decided to find out more about the place, what I found is deeply disturbing, and very sad for the romantic in me.
Below Iv posted some links to some sites regarding the issue if anybody would care to take a look and post a reply that would be great!
    Thanks
