    dont see why,

loads of models are available free on the net for whatever purposes, why put your creations at risk?

    well i'm in architecture.
when i create models of the building i need high quality models of furniture, vehicles etc.

    1) buying the from people like viewpoint costs a fortune and then they still need about 3 hours work to bring them up to spec.
    2) downloading free models off the net also doesnt help. most of the models online are sci-fi type models any that i could use are usually s**t.

i've built up a good library of models and would be happy to exchange with others.

WoW! sweet visualisations. Top class 3d work/texturing and lighting. My only quibble is when you put in people. Id add shadows around them to make them more real.

It looks like 3d max you are using, is it?

As for 3d models, there are loads of sites around where you can trade what you are looking for. just look harder. Id also suggest getting a prog to change the models from one format to another. very handy.

    thanks for the complements Figment

    yes I'm using 3DStudio Viz

I have PolyTrans and Interchange to convert from 1 format to another, but its nearly impossible to find good "free" models on the net.

as for the people, there aren't any realistic looking 3D models so I have to use maps. and if the light isn't behind the camera somewhere, if its to the side (+/- 90 deg) to camera you get a very thin shadow. small price to pay (could touch it up with Photoshop but couldn't be bothered)
