Insurance question

    can anyone help. I am a 21 yr old male and i am looking for a car but i cant afford my own insurance. I am wondering can my father by the main driver while still being the main driver on his jeep. The jeep has commerical insurance.

    Can anyone help me.

    From past experience I dont think that your father can be the main driver on 2 policies.Then again because the jeep is a commercial and only seats 2 then he could argue that he needs a second policy for socialising/everyday use etc.

    Always worth a try, but from what I've heard the insurance co's are clamping down on it. Technically it's illegal, but if you can get people to blag for you in court (if you have a crash) there shouldn't be a problem.

    afaik it is possible for him to take out 2 policys, the only problem is, that he wont have his no claims bonus on the second policy.

    As far as i know,a person can have as many policys as they like,but said already have to buiild up a new no claims on each,the fact that he does not have private insurance on the jeep will make it easier to get eg only used for work purposes!
