Play Uk closing

I think its a crying shame that Play UK is closing in December, it was brilliant for all that BBC comedy re run, and also was one of the rare UK TV channels (gold, gold 2 etc.) that had programs which were made specially for the channel.

The comedy element was top class, but the music element im afraid was a great loss, i did enjoy their programs which were like rockumentary type things, but who here would ever watch a Play Uk music mix, it just seemed so random as to what videos would come on.
And the whole TOTP @ Play that used be on for hours of the day didnt work at all.

At least i hope to see all those programs being shown on the Uk Gold channels to bolster their already quite full schedules to make them even better, and then that the Play UK transponder will go ahead as promised as a UK History channel. I have heard people complaining about this but its not such a bad thing to have another history channel, we could do with another one.

Play has been in my favourites since I got Sky. Not so much for the music, but for the comedies. I'll miss it. Here's hoping UK gold take over some of the comedy programmes.

I used to watch PlayUK a lot until they changed its EPG number and category from Music to Entertainment. Don't watch it much now at all. It's rumoured to be replaced by UK History.
